Testimonials

Going above & beyond in delivering the best services, we always see our clients as long-term partners—providing them with the support that helps them care more for their people.

Look Ahead
Charitable Housing Association, London and the South East

Look Ahead has engaged AGS Support since 2019 to provide both static and roaming concierge services across a number of geographical sites across Kent.

Emergency support both out of hours and late notice cover have always been provided when required and services of all kinds delivered to a high quality. Communication channels have always been maintained exceptionally well and AGS support Look Ahead as a trusted partner agency.

In light of the excellent work that AGS has provided for Look Ahead in Kent, I have no hesitation in recommending them for other work of a similar nature – in fact, I recommended them at short notice for the provision of services to other Look Ahead services in London in response to the COVID-19 outbreak when hotels were set up at short notice and they rose to the challenge and continue to support those services to this day.”

Porchlight
Charity for Homeless and Vulnerable people, Kent

Since September 2019, AGS have been providing Porchlight with a concierge service within all of our high support accommodation projects.

We are very impressed with the service being provided, the staff and managers are extremely competent and deal with issues throughout the night. Their understanding of people with complex needs is very evident, appropriate safeguarding processes and procedures are always followed to project our vulnerable client group.

Communication is excellent and regular update meetings being held, ad-hoc updates and meeting are provided when required.

So far since AGS have provided the service, they have always been able to cover a shift.

Recently during the outbreak of Covid-19, AGS were able to provide Porchlight with a bank of bank-up staff, at very short notice.

Depaul UK
The Youth Homelessness Charity

“I wanted to take a moment to thank you and your AGS colleagues for the recent work you did in partnership with Depaul UK to open – very quickly – and manage two Emergency Hotels for rough sleepers as part of the government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was important work, and it is to our shared credit that the hotels, one with 145-beds, operated so effectively, and that no one of the hundreds of people that stayed with us caught COVID-19.

Furthermore, when the hotels closed, the majority moved to more permanent accommodation, and records continue to indicate that very few have subsequently returned to the streets.

Dan and I found you and Richard good to deal with and the staff you supplied were well trained and well supported. They had pride in your organisation and our work, and there were some great characters, who connected well with the clients, other services providers and our own staff.

We are happy to recommend AGS to others, and we look forward to doing more with you ourselves.”

Tom Copley
Deputy Mayor for Housing and Residential Development, Greater London Authority

I wanted to give my personal thanks to you and everyone at AGS for the amazing work you are doing with rough sleepers during the COVID-19 emergency.

Without your help, the task of caring for people who were sleeping rough in London when this crisis hit would have been impossible. We simply could not have got the support in place so quickly and run it so effectively had it not been for AGS staff at all levels stepping up at short notice.

I know from our team how much your efforts have been appreciated, both by the guests and by the hoteliers, who have been surprised at how calm and incident-free life at the hotels has generally been. This is a direct result of the dedicated, professional way in which staff have managed this extraordinary period.

A testament to the success of our coronavirus response has been that so few rough sleepers in London have contracted the virus, far fewer than in some other major cities around the world. Now that we’re moving to the next phase, we value your help and support more than ever.

I appreciate that the work to find support people as more suitable longer-term accommodation is sought is, in many cases, even more challenging than the work that has already been done to support everyone into the hotels.

Working with you and other organisations, the team at City Hall is committed to doing everything we can with the limited resources we have to help secure accommodation and provide help with issues like immigration, employment, mental health and substance misuse. This includes doing what we can to provide ongoing interim accommodation for those who need it when their hotel closes.

I recognise that for some, particularly many non-UK nationals, the challenges are significant. The Mayor and I will continue to lobby the Government for the funding and changes needed so that everyone we are currently helping can be supported to rebuild their lives.

Please do pass on a huge ‘thank you’ from me to all the staff at AGS who are involved in this vital work.”

Housing Manager
YMCA

“Our YMCA is a Supported housing project with 73 bed spaces. 22 of these are high support for complex and chaotic need and the remainder are low support. We are staffed 24 hours a day and use a combination of our own Support workers and AGS Support staff to staff the building. AGS Support staff are used with or without our own staff to cover mainly nights and some adhoc day shifts at short notice.”
